In Thailand, public universities' tuition fees are lesser than private universities. At private universities, the cost of studying depends on factors such as the course duration, type of course and the institution.

For international students, the average cost of tuition fees in Thailand varies from $17,000 to $28,000, depending on the program. To cover your living expenses in Thailand, you need anywhere between $600 to $1200 monthly, depending on your location, lifestyle, and miscellaneous expenses. The living expenses in Thailand include food, transportation and accommodation.

Student Visa to Study in Thailand

International students need to apply for a student visa to study in Thailand. You can apply for a Thailand student visa at your nearest embassy or consulate in your home country. International students are asked to apply for a one-year Thai student visa and need to extend it every year. The Thailand student visa cost is around US$ 70. Besides, the Thailand student visa processing time takes around 5-10 business days. Once you get the Thai student visa, you need to notify the immigration office of your current Thailand address for every 90 days. International students can work part-time up to 20 hours per week.

To apply for a Thailand student visa, you must submit the following documents:

  • A police clearance certificate.
  • A medical examination report.
  • Payment of Thai student visa fee.
  • A recent passport size photograph.
  • Letter of acceptance from the university.
  • Duly filled and signed student visa application form.
  • Proof of funds to support your living and educational expenses in Thailand.
  • A passport with at least six months of validity from the completion of your stay.

Health Insurance to Study in Thailand

International students in Thailand need to apply and get health insurance from their home country to avail medical services from private hospitals in Indonesia. Many private hospitals recommend international students to have Thailand health insurance to avail themselves of treatment in hospitals in case of any health issues, and the treatment offered to international students in Thailand is world-class. The public hospitals run by the Thai government are equally as good as private hospitals in terms of quality treatment and infrastructure.
